BRING BACK THE KITCHEN KITCHEN!

The kitchen used to be the heart of the home, but the heart of the home has undergone a transplant, separating into a show kitchen, and the work kitchen, which is antithetical to what a kitchen really is supposed to be as the vintage photograph shows.
So, the question is; which kitchen would you want to be in during a cold winter night, a stormy Florida hurricane or just to hang out in? While the trend today is to seem to want a kitchen devoid of, well, kitchen appliances, only to fill a secondary kitchen with all of the items that any good cook needs to prepare meals.
The culprit is the open plan design, which is also for the most part if not on the way out but homeowners who have had the open floor plans lament about the interaction of three totally different spaces one to enjoy a movie too to enjoy a meal and three to slavishly work in the kitchen with all the noise and appliances that are normally associated with it so the answer has been create a secondary kitchen to keep all the clutter, causing any cook to have to walk hundreds of steps from one kitchen to another, just to make a malted or toast! Again, the logic for us escapes us.
Not sure about the logic of that one and the trend lately is in the opposite direction, going back to a warm inviting kitchen with some separation from other living spaces and we are leading that new design trend watch for it soon!
